A disposable scalpel is a blade and handle in one piece: open the pouch, use it, and throw it away. There is no blade to fit or remove, which makes these the safest choice when you want a fresh, sharp edge every time.

Sterility
The scalpels are sterilized by gamma radiation (25 kGy) as declared by the manufacturer, and sterility holds while the pouch is unbroken.
