#11 Scalpel Blades
The #11 scalpel blade has a long straight edge that runs to a sharp triangular point. It is chosen for stab cuts, precise straight lines, stencils, opening packaging and fine detail work. This pack holds ten carbon steel #11 blades, each in its own sealed foil pouch, so you open only the blade you need.
Scalpel #11 or Craft Knife #11?
Both have a pointed, straight edge, but they are not interchangeable. These are scalpel blades: a slot in the blade locks onto the fitting of a #3 or #7 scalpel handle. Craft knife #11 blades have a straight shank and clamp into the collet of a craft knife, so they do not fit scalpel handles, and scalpel blades do not fit craft knives. For a craft knife, choose our #11 craft knife blades.
Which Handle Fits a #11 Blade?
The #11 belongs to the small-fitting family (#10 to #15C) and fits #3 and #7 handles. It does not fit a #4 handle. If you do not have a handle yet, the #11 scalpel set pairs ten of these blades with a matching #3 stainless handle.
Sterile Foil Packs
Each blade is sealed in its own foil pouch and sterilized by gamma radiation, as declared by the manufacturer. Sterility holds while the pouch is unbroken.

Use and Safety
Carbon steel takes a very sharp edge but can rust if left wet: dry blades after use and store them in a dry place. Fit and remove blades with a pair of pliers or a blade remover, never with your fingers, and drop used blades into a blade disposal box. Sold for craft, hobby, laboratory, dissection, taxidermy and educational use. Not sold as a medical device.
